Their story
Bozal is a mezcal brand from 3 Badge Beverage Corp, the Sonoma company led by fourth-generation vintner August Sebastiani. It brings a winemaker's eye for place to the world of agave spirits.
Rather than working with one village, Bozal partners with producers in Oaxaca, Guerrero and Durango, letting each region's methods and wild agaves shine. The brand is easy to spot on the shelf thanks to its colorful ceramic bottles.
How it's made
Bozal focuses on wild agave mezcals made by partner producers in their home regions. Some expressions follow the ancestral method with clay pot distillation, including a seasonal mezcal distilled with marigolds and mandarin peel for Day of the Dead.

Why we carry them
We like Bozal for a tour of Mexico's agave regions in one lineup. The bottles make great gifts, and what is inside is worth the attention.
