Their story
Brancott Estate began with a Croatian immigrant family. Ivan and Amanda Yukich planted their first vines west of Auckland in 1934, and their sons Mate and Frank founded Montana Wines in 1961.
In 1973 Montana expanded into Marlborough, at the top of the South Island, and opened its Brancott winery near Blenheim in 1977. The company went through several owners, including Pernod Ricard, and took the Brancott Estate name in 2010.
How it's made
The Brancott winery south of Blenheim makes the brand's Marlborough wines, most of them Sauvignon Blanc. Fruit comes from the region's sunny, cool-night vineyards, which give the wines their bright, zesty character.
Why we carry them
We think Brancott is a great way to taste where Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc began. It is a reliable, crisp white for seafood and salads.
