Their story
Château Laballe is a family estate in the Bas-Armagnac, on the Landes side of the region. Cyril Laudet, the eighth generation of his family here, took over the domaine in 2007 and runs it with his wife, Julie.
The house is best known for its vintage-dated Armagnacs, each a snapshot of a single year, grower and place, and it has earned a reputation as one of the more forward-thinking producers in this old region.
How it's made
Laballe grows its own grapes and distills them into Armagnac, then ages the spirit in oak until it is ready to bottle. Many releases carry a single vintage date rather than a blend of years. The family also makes wines from the estate.
Our featured pick
Rich 12yr Bas Armagnac (750ML)
$90.00
A sweet armagnac aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 12 years, the very essence of Armagnac.
Why we carry them
We love Laballe's vintage Armagnacs as birthday and anniversary gifts. They are a great way into a brandy that deserves more attention.
