Their story
Delouis is a French condiment house from the Limousin, in west-central France. Its story begins in 1885, when the company bought a vinegar factory in Limoges and set about making vinegars for the region's kitchens.
Over more than a century the range grew from vinegar into mustards, dressings and classic French sauces such as hollandaise and mayonnaise, still built on recipes the company describes as long-held family ones.
How it's made
Delouis grinds carefully chosen whole mustard seeds at its own plant to a set specification. The range is made without additives, preservatives or artificial flavors, relying on vinegar and salt to keep things fresh. Its Muscat vinegar pairs Muscat grapes with caramelized sugar in the style of traditional balsamic.
Why we carry them
Delouis is the kind of French pantry staple that makes a weeknight vinaigrette taste like a bistro's. We like the old-fashioned whole grain mustard on a charcuterie board.
