Their story
Domaine de Montine sits outside Grignan in the Drôme, in a former farmhouse of the Château de Grignan, once home to the Marquise de Sévigné.
The Monteillet family has tended these vines for four generations. Jean-Luc and Claudy Monteillet took over from their father in 1987.
Today the estate covers 70 hectares of vines across Grignan-les-Adhémar, Côtes du Rhône and the Vinsobres cru, along with truffle oaks, lavender fields and a small guesthouse. It began converting to organic farming with the 2024 vintage.
How it's made
Grapes are harvested at night to keep them cool, and fermentations are temperature-controlled and tasted often. The wines then age in an old vaulted cellar that holds a steady temperature. The estate makes reds, whites and rosés, plus naturally sweet wines.
Why we carry them
Grignan-les-Adhémar is a little-known corner of the Rhône, and we think Montine's wines are an easy introduction to it.
