Their story

Domaine Dupont is the Dupont family's Calvados estate at La Vigannerie, in Normandy's Pays d'Auge, where the family's roots in the area go back more than three centuries.

Jules Dupont became tenant of the farm in 1887 and owned it by 1916. Cattle were the main business then, with apples and Calvados on the side. His son Louis ran the estate until his death in 1974, and Louis's widow, Colette, kept it going until Étienne Dupont took over in 1980.

Étienne went to Cognac to study distillation and has worked to improve the orchards and grow the family's land.

How it's made

The family's orchards cover about 27 hectares with some 6,000 trees, and the fruit goes into Calvados under the Pays d'Auge appellation. Étienne brought what he learned about distillation in Cognac back to the estate.

Why we carry them

Dupont is one of the names we point to when someone wants to understand what Pays d'Auge Calvados can be.
