Their story
Domaine Pellé is a family estate in Menetou-Salon, now run by Paul-Henry Pellé, the fifth generation. Its story reaches back to Paul Pellé, who tended vines and sold his wine at local markets in the early 1900s.
Henry Pellé, the next generation, brought the family's vineyards and winemaking together and drafted the first rules for the Menetou-Salon appellation. When Paul-Henry's father died in 1995, his mother, Anne, kept the domaine going until he was ready to take over.
How it's made
The family grows Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir on Kimmeridgian limestone and marl, with a focus on vineyard work and village bottlings such as Morogues. Recent vintages are certified organic.
Why we carry them
Menetou-Salon offers Sancerre-style Sauvignon Blanc at a gentler price, and Pellé is one of the names we look for there.
