Escubac
A revived old-style botanical spirit from Edinburgh's Sweetdram.
- Founded by
- Daniel Fisher, Andrew McLeod Smith (Sweetdram)
- Based in
- Saumur, Loire Valley
Their story
Escubac is made by Sweetdram, the Edinburgh company started by Daniel Fisher and Andrew McLeod Smith, who met while studying for master's degrees in brewing and distilling. Escubac was their first project, a revival of a nearly forgotten style of botanical spirit.
To bring it back, they partnered with the historic Distillerie Combier in Saumur, in France's Loire Valley. Sweetdram has since grown into its own production space in Edinburgh, making liqueurs and spirits alongside independent whisky bottlings.
How it's made
Escubac is built on a blend of botanicals, created in collaboration with Distillerie Combier. Sweetdram works on a custom copper pot still and focuses on flavor-driven, small-batch spirits.
Why we carry them
Escubac sits somewhere between gin and a liqueur, and we love it with tonic or in a spritz. It's a fun bottle for anyone who likes to experiment at the home bar.
