Everclear
America's best-known high-proof grain spirit, a blank canvas for infusions.
- Based in
- St. Louis, Missouri
Their story
Everclear is a rectified grain spirit that dates back to around 1922. It is made by Luxco, the St. Louis spirits company founded in 1958 by David Sherman Sr. and Paul A. Lux as the David Sherman Corporation.
Luxco itself was acquired by MGP Ingredients in 2021, so Everclear is now part of the MGP family of brands.
How it's made
Everclear is distilled from grain to a very high strength and bottled with little flavor of its own. It comes in several strengths, from 120 proof up to 190 proof, depending on the bottling and local law.
Why we carry them
We stock Everclear for home projects like limoncello, bitters and extracts, where a clean, neutral base matters. It's very strong, so always dilute it and use it with care.
