Their story
Evil Twin Brewing is led by Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, a Danish former schoolteacher who started brewing Evil Twin beers in 2010 without a brewery of his own, partnering with other breweries as a nomadic, or "gypsy," brewer.
He moved to the United States with his family in 2012 and helped open the Brooklyn beer bar Tørst in Greenpoint. After years of construction and permitting, Evil Twin finally opened its own brewery in Ridgewood, Queens in 2019, complete with a greenhouse-style taproom.
How it's made
Having his own brewhouse lets Jeppe taste the beer in the fermenters each morning and adjust as he goes. The lineup ranges from year-round and seasonal beers to one-off experiments, including savory brews made with unusual ingredients like carrots.
I like to be involved in what I do.
Why we carry them
Evil Twin keeps things interesting, and we always look forward to what comes out of Ridgewood next. Grab a can when you're in the mood for something a little different.
