Their story
Fable Fish Co. was founded by Meghan Luck, who serves as CEO of the Alaska-born seafood brand. The idea came from home: her family had smoked sockeye salmon for years, and she wanted to turn that tradition into a snack more people could enjoy.
The brand is best known for its wild sockeye salmon jerky, developed over roughly four years of recipe testing. Luck has built the company as a self-funded business.
How it's made
The salmon is wild sockeye from Bristol Bay, Alaska, the largest sustainable wild salmon fishery in the world, where fishing is limited to a harvestable surplus. Sockeye is one of the leanest salmon species, and the team worked with a manufacturing partner to get a jerky texture that is tender rather than tough.
