Their story
Fast Penny Spirits is a women-led amaro maker in Seattle's Interbay neighborhood. Founder and CEO Jamie Hunt spent years testing hundreds of brews before teaming up with Holly Robinson, a distilling veteran who had co-founded Captive Spirits, and the company launched in 2020.
Its first two bottles were Amaricano, a dark amaro, and Amaricano Bianca, a lighter style. From the start the founders pledged a share of each bottle's revenue to programs that support women in business and their communities.
How it's made
Each amaro uses more than 45 botanicals on a West Coast grape spirit base, many of them sourced from Northwest producers, including Seattle coffee cascara, Theo cocoa nibs, Washington hazelnuts and saffron, and foraged local truffles. The company favors organic and wild-crafted ingredients and packages in domestic recycled glass.
Being able to contribute to both my passion in amaro and philanthropy through Amaricano is a dream come true.
Why we carry them
We like Fast Penny for showing how well an American amaro can capture its own place. Try Amaricano after dinner or in a Negroni twist.
