Their story
Fat and the Moon is the work of herbalist Rachel Budde, who comes from a family of herbalists and natural healers. The company is based in Grass Valley, in California's Sierra foothills, where everything is made under one roof.
Budde built the line around the idea that skin is where we meet the world, and that caring for it should feel like self-care rather than fixing a flaw. The range now covers skin care, deodorant, bath soaks, salves, oral care, lip and cheek color and perfume.
How it's made
Products are mixed by hand in small batches that follow the seasons, using plants that are organically grown or ethically harvested, such as calendula, clary sage and rosemary. Formulas are non-toxic, and packaging is reusable or recyclable wherever possible.
