Their story

Fess Parker, the actor best known as television's Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone, bought land in the Santa Ynez Valley in 1988 and planted his first five acres of vines soon after. His family turned that start into one of Santa Barbara County's best-known wineries.

Today the winery is run by his children, Eli Parker and Ashley Parker Snider. Eli apprenticed under winemaker Jed Steele in the 1990s before working in the family cellar. The family also runs an inn and restaurant in nearby Los Olivos.

How it's made

The family's vineyard holdings grew from five acres to close to 700, planted mainly to Rhone and Burgundian varieties such as Syrah, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Grapes from their own Santa Barbara County vineyards form the backbone of the wines.

Why we carry them

We like Fess Parker for approachable Central Coast wines with a fun Hollywood backstory. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are easy crowd-pleasers.
