Their story

Fly By Jing is the brand of Jing Gao, a former Procter & Gamble brand manager who moved to China to work in tech and found herself drawn into cooking instead. She opened a restaurant in Shanghai, then moved to California to start a company built around the bold flavors of Sichuan food.

A 2018 Kickstarter launched her Sichuan Chili Crisp, and the brand took off when home cooking boomed in 2020. It has since added sauces, noodles and seasonings, and in 2025 it shifted its focus from direct online sales to grocery shelves.

How it's made

The chili crisp layers crunchy fried chilies and aromatics in oil, seasoned with the numbing Sichuan pepper that defines the region's food. The brand works from Sichuan flavors and ingredients across its line of sauces and noodles.

Why we carry them

Fly By Jing chili crisp is the jar we reach for to wake up eggs, noodles, dumplings and even vanilla ice cream. Start with a little; it builds.
