Their story

Fred Jerbis is the project of Federico "Fred" Cremasco, a bartender from Friuli in northeastern Italy. He grew up in Travesio and in 2012 took over the bar in Polcenigo, a tiny hill town of a few hundred people at the foot of the mountains.

He started growing herbs for his cocktails in just over an acre of gardens, which his mother Vanda now mostly tends, and a couple of years later began making gin. The range grew into vermouth, bitter, amaro and fernet, almost all built from Friulian ingredients. The brand now also appears under the name Opificio Fred.

How it's made

Cremasco gathers botanicals from his garden, nearby farms and the woods toward the Dolomites. Gin43 uses 43 of them, each extracted its own way, then rests in acacia barrels; the amaro leans on tree barks and leaves and is blended solera-style, and the fernet ages in chestnut barrels.

My idea is to have a 0 km project.

Why we carry them

Fred Jerbis is a great example of how place can shape a spirit. Try Bitter34 in a Negroni, or the Amaro16 on its own after dinner.
