Their story

G4 is made by Felipe Camarena, the fourth generation of a Jalisco highlands tequila family. His great-grandfather Don Pedro Camarena planted blue Weber agave in the highlands in the 1800s, and his grandfather opened the La Altena distillery in 1937.

Felipe founded his own distillery, El Pandillo, in 2007, and it officially opened in 2011. G4 reached U.S. shelves in 2014. The volcanic stone tahona used for the family's first batch of tequila is now on display at El Pandillo.

How it's made

The blanco is made with an even mix of spring water and rainwater, which is collected from the roof and stored in a 200,000-liter underground tank. G4 uses an ancestral family yeast strain and is made without additives.

Why we carry them

We point tequila fans to G4 when they want to taste clean, mineral highland agave. The high-proof blanco is a favorite for sipping neat.
