Gardel's

Argentine chimichurri and grilling sauces from a Los Angeles steakhouse family.

Their story

Gardel's Fine Foods comes out of Carlitos Gardel, an Argentine steakhouse in Los Angeles with more than two decades of cooking behind it. Chef Gerard Bozoghlian leads the company as president.

It started with chimichurri, the parsley and garlic sauce served alongside grilled meat in Argentina, and its packaging nods to the asadores, or grill masters. A California grocer later asked the team for wing sauces, which grew into the Asador BBQ line with flavors like Bourbon Maple and New Mexico Hatch Chile.

How it's made

The sauces are hand-crafted from fresh ingredients, following Argentine practice for chimichurri. The company keeps labels short and skips artificial flavors, colors and preservatives, and its BBQ sauces are naturally sweetened and less sugary than most.

Why we carry them

We reach for Gardel's chimichurri any time steak or grilled vegetables are on the menu. It is bright and herby, and it also makes a quick marinade.
