Their story

Gem & Bolt was started by Adrin Adrina and Elliott Coon, two friends who grew up together in a creative community in the mountains of Virginia. Before mezcal, they made herbal elixirs with damiana, a flowering herb long used in Mexico.

They brought that interest to Oaxaca, where the mezcal is made, and built the brand around pairing agave spirit with damiana. Over time it expanded its distribution to the West Coast.

How it's made

The mezcal is first distilled in a traditional copper still and rested for two to three months. A second distillation follows in a custom stainless steel and copper still, where damiana is added, giving a rounder, gently herbal spirit.
