Ghia

A bitter, herbal, alcohol-free aperitif inspired by Mediterranean evenings.

Their story

Ghia was created by Melanie Masarin, who spent childhood summers on the Mediterranean and later worked in investment banking in New York. A trip to Milan with friends got her thinking about bringing the ritual of a good meal to what we drink, without the alcohol.

She wanted a bitter aperitif with little sugar that would let non-drinkers feel included at the table. Each bottle comes with a booklet of Mediterranean-style recipes, from spritzes to alcohol-free Negronis, developed with bartender Alison St Pierre.

How it's made

The recipe went through 37 versions before launch. It blends lemon balm, elderflower, rosemary, gentian root, yuzu, Riesling grape, fig and acacia, with no alcohol and no added sugar. Packaging is designed to be recyclable or biodegradable.

I wanted to create a drink for sipping from dusk until dawn.

Why we carry them

We reach for Ghia when we want a grown-up drink without the alcohol. Over ice with soda it tastes like a proper aperitivo.
