Their story
Grab Green was started in Camarillo, California by Patricia Spencer, a mother worried about the chemicals in everyday laundry detergent. She was joined by co-founder Michael Edell, an entrepreneur who had built and sold earlier companies, and together they grew the line beyond its early base of independent Southern California stores.
In February 2025, Grove Collaborative acquired Grab Green's assets after a partnership dating to 2019, with the co-founders staying on as advisors.
How it's made
Grab Green makes dish, laundry and household cleaners that replace petroleum-based ingredients and synthetic scents with plant- and mineral-based ingredients such as coconut oil and essential oils. The line is best known for its premeasured detergent and disposal pods.
