Their story
Groix & Nature is a small cannery on the Île de Groix, an island off the south coast of Brittany reached by ferry from Lorient. Its workshop sits in the village of Port-Lay, a short walk from the harbor, and visitors can stop in to see how the jars are made.
The cannery has been working on the island since around 2000. Alongside its shop by the ferry landing, it runs a counter in Lorient, and its jars now travel well beyond Brittany.
How it's made
Everything is made in small batches at the island workshop. The range covers fish and shellfish rillettes, such as scallop, mackerel, lobster, and abalone, along with traditional Breton fish soups, ready-made dishes, and the cannery's signature lobster oil.
Why we carry them
We like a jar of Groix & Nature rillettes with crackers and a cold white wine, an easy taste of the Breton coast without any cooking.
