Their story
Guido Porro and his wife, Giovanna Ruffinengo, run a small family estate in Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of Piedmont's Barolo zone. The Porro family has farmed here for generations and has bottled wine under its own name since the late 1970s.
Their vines sit on the slopes north of the village and cover only a handful of hectares. Standouts include Lazzairasco, a small amphitheater of old Nebbiolo vines, some around 80 years old, and parcels in the Lazzarito and Vigna Rionda crus.
How it's made
Fermentations rely on native yeasts. Dolcetto is made in cement and Barbera in stainless steel, while Nebbiolo for Barolo ages in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks in the traditional style.
Why we carry them
Guido Porro makes classic Serralunga Barolo at prices that still feel fair, and we think it is one of the best ways into the region.
