Their story
Hellenic Farms is the work of Vivianna Karamanis Tziotis, who left a career in television production in New York and moved to Greece in 2013. She runs the company with her husband, Theophilos Tziotis.
In Greece she found standout foods at farmers markets and neighborhood shops, then asked the people who made them whether they wanted to sell in the United States. That same year she founded Hellenic Farms to import and distribute their olives, oils, honey, spices and preserves.
The range has grown to include vegan fig salamis, developed with local producers, and award-winning wild thyme flower honey.
How it's made
Hellenic Farms works directly with small producers across several Greek regions rather than making the food itself. The team visits and tastes with each maker before adding a product. Items like the fig salamis are built from Greek figs, nuts and spices pressed into a sliceable log.
The short version is I followed my heart to Greece.
Why we carry them
We love having a shortcut to Greek pantry staples from people who actually make them. The fig salami next to a wedge of feta is an easy cheese board win.
