Their story
Heydoh is a soy sauce brand from two friends: Clarissa Wei, a journalist and author of the Taiwanese cookbook Made in Taiwan, and Christine Liu, a Brooklyn resident who left a tech career. Wei brought the idea to Liu in 2024, and the brand launched in 2025.
The name means black soybean in Mandarin, and the sauce comes from a factory in Taiwan known for being open about how it sources and makes its products.
How it's made
Heydoh uses single-origin Taiwanese black soybeans and ferments the whole bean, rather than the leftover meal from oil pressing that many soy sauces use. The team gives fermentation plenty of time, and the Silky version is fermented twice for a rounder, thicker sauce.
Our product is made the old school way, which is why it's so delicious.
Why we carry them
We think a good soy sauce changes a lot of home cooking, and this is a good place to start. Try a few drops of the Silky on eggs or tofu.
