Hirsch Selected Whiskeys

A storied bourbon name, revived with blends from Kentucky and Indiana.

Based in
Kentucky

Their story

The Hirsch name goes back to a single famous batch of bourbon. In 1974, whiskey was distilled at the Pennsylvania plant that later became the Michter's distillery and was set aside for an unusually long time. Bottled years later as A.H. Hirsch Reserve 16 Year Old, after the investor Adolph Hirsch, it became one of the most sought-after American whiskeys.

After passing through several owners, the brand is now part of Hotaling & Co., the San Francisco spirits company formerly known as Anchor Distilling. Today's HIRSCH Selected Whiskeys line is made with whiskey from Bardstown, Kentucky, and Indiana.

How it's made

HIRSCH works with distilleries rather than running its own stills, but the team chooses the mash bill, yeast and where barrels rest in the warehouse. Most releases are blends of several whiskeys, and the brand is not tied to one style or one state.

Why we carry them

We like a bottle with a good story attached, and Hirsch has one of the best in bourbon. Try it neat and judge the current blends on their own.
