Their story

Hoof Hearted Brewing lives in Marengo, a small village in Morrow County about 40 miles north of downtown Columbus. Trevor Williams started it with friends Jarrod and Ryan Bichon after a trip to Colorado got them thinking about hoppy beer.

The brewery opened in 2011, and its first beer was a citrusy IPA called Musk of the Minotaur. At the time, that style was still new in central Ohio, and the crew helped put it on the map there. Today the main taproom is still in Marengo, with a smaller brewpub in Columbus.

How it's made

Hoof Hearted focuses on IPAs, double IPAs, and triple IPAs, with a rotating lineup of dozens of beers and around a dozen on tap at once. The team also brews lighter, lower-alcohol lagers alongside the hop-forward beers.

Regular IPAs and the double and triple IPAs are kind of what we're known for

Why we carry them

If you like your IPAs bold and juicy, Hoof Hearted is a brewery we point people to. The names are silly, the beer is serious.
