Their story
Hot Girl Sauce is the work of Janice Miye Kim, a second-generation Korean American from Los Angeles. Before starting the brand, she spent more than 15 years in merchandising and brand work at companies including Forever 21, L'Oreal, and The Bouqs.
Kim loved the depth of chili oil but noticed many people treated it as an occasional splurge. She set out to make it as easy to reach for as hot sauce. The brand launched online in late 2023 from Santa Monica and moved into national retail in 2025.
How it's made
The chili oils are built on olive oil, with a focus on simple ingredient lists. The range includes the original oil, a crunchier version, a habanero blend, and a squeezable bottle.
