Their story
Imagine Foods grew out of the natural foods movement. Robert Nissenbaum opened an organic food market in St. Louis in 1971, when he was 20, and co-founded Imagine Foods there in 1982 before moving the company to California's Bay Area two years later.
The company made its name with Rice Dream, a rice-based drink and frozen dessert, and later Soy Dream. Its organic soups and broths became leaders in their category on natural foods shelves.
In December 2002 Imagine Foods was acquired by The Hain Celestial Group, which continues to make the Imagine line of organic broths and soups.
