Their story

Jardesca is a California aperitif created by Roger and Lisa Morrison, a Los Angeles couple, working with Sonoma partners Marshall Dawson and Marcus Seiden. They spent about two years developing it, and by 2014 it was on shelves around Northern California.

The idea was to bring back the aperitif hour with something made in California. The bottle carries a drawing of Epicurus, the Greek philosopher whose ideas about simple pleasures inspired the founders.

How it's made

The base is a blend of sweet and dry California white wines, chosen after the team tasted dozens of varietals. It is married with a double-distilled eau de vie made from 10 botanicals, including orange blossom, cardamom, apricot and grapefruit.

We tasted between 30-40 varietals of white wine to get the perfect blend for the wine component of the aperitif.
Roger Morrison, co-founder, to Larchmont Buzz (2014)

Why we carry them

We like Jardesca poured over ice in a tall glass, maybe with a splash of soda, before dinner. It is lighter than most vermouths and easy to love.
