Their story
Joseph A. Magnus founded his whiskey business in Cincinnati in 1892 and built it into a well-known pre-Prohibition brand. He spent his summers in Oden, Michigan, and died there in 1927.
One of his great-grandsons brought the name back in 2015, opening a distillery in Washington, D.C. In 2020 the company moved production to Holland, Michigan, where it now works alongside Coppercraft Distillery. Both are owned by Windquest Group, the DeVos family company.
How it's made
Magnus focuses on premium bourbons and dry gins. Since 2020 its spirits have been produced at Coppercraft Distillery in Holland, Michigan.
We're excited to be bringing the Magnus brand home to Michigan to support the next phase of our growth.
Why we carry them
We like a whiskey with a family story, and Magnus pairs its history with bottles serious bourbon fans seek out.
