Their story

Joyus was started in Seattle by Jessica Selander, who spent years thinking about a non-alcoholic winery before she launched one. The company is sober-owned and woman-owned.

Selander's idea was to make something that tastes like wine and fits at the same table, for people who are not drinking for any reason. She has described alcohol-removed wine as a tribute to traditional wine rather than a replacement for it.

How it's made

Joyus starts with real wine. Its white blend leans on Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, French Colombard and Chenin Blanc, grapes chosen because they hold up well once the alcohol is removed. After aging, the wine goes through a gentle dealcoholization process meant to keep its flavor and aroma.

alcohol-removed wine is really a love letter to traditional alcohol wine.

Why we carry them

We like having a bottle of Joyus around for dinners where not everyone is drinking. It pours like wine and feels like part of the meal.
