Their story
The name goes back to two immigrant merchants in 19th-century New Orleans. Luis Emmanuel Jung came from Germany early in the century and built a rum trade, and Danish merchant Frederick A. Wulff arrived a few years later and helped expand it.
Through their ties to Caribbean distillers, the pair became the leading rum importers in the city and the region, helping make rum part of the local table and of drinks like the Daiquiri and the Hurricane.
Today a line of rums carries their names, and the Sazerac House in New Orleans devotes a section to their story.
How it's made
The range is built around origin rums from Trinidad (No. 1), Guyana (No. 2) and Barbados (No. 3), regions connected to the trade routes Jung and Wulff established. Each bottling is meant to show the character of its island or country.
Why we carry them
We like tasting the three numbered rums side by side to see how much place matters. It is a fun way to explore Caribbean styles.
