Their story

Kilinga comes from Álamos, a colonial town in the foothills of southern Sonora, Mexico. Founder and maestro bacanorero Rodrigo Bojorquez Bours started the brand in 2018 to share bacanora, the agave spirit of his home state, with drinkers beyond the region.

The first official bottling came in 2019, and Kilinga reached the United States in 2022. The name and label speak to the Sonoran desert landscape that shapes the spirit.

How it's made

Kilinga uses Agave angustifolia, the native agave of Sonora, grown on the family farm and gathered wild. The Silvestre is made from wild plants around 7 to 8 years old, while the Blanco uses older cultivated agave. The spirit is double distilled, and aged versions rest in American oak or ex-red wine French oak.

Why we carry them

We like Kilinga as a doorway into bacanora, floral and bright with a gentle roasted agave note, great for anyone who already loves mezcal.
