Their story
Knotted Root Brewing opened in the mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, in July 2019. Founder Chris Marchio had spent years at craft breweries along the Front Range and helped popularize hazy IPAs in Denver before building his own place over two and a half years.
The brewery was designed as a rustic, independent taproom for locals and for hikers and skiers coming down from the hills. Its opening lineup mixed a classic Kolsch with single-hop pale ales, a Southern Hemisphere IPA, a fruited Berliner weisse and a farmhouse ale brewed with foraged dandelions.
How it's made
Knotted Root brews in small batches, leaning on aromatic hops from the Pacific Northwest and the Southern Hemisphere for its hazy beers. Marchio describes the approach as led by intuition, and the brewery packages in 16-ounce cans.

Why we carry them
We like Knotted Root for juicy, soft hazy IPAs that taste like a day in the Colorado mountains.
