Komos
Wine-minded tequila from a master sommelier, aged in wine casks and aerated.

Their story
Komos is the tequila project of Richard Betts, who earned his Master Sommelier title in 2003 after years running wine programs in Aspen. He went on to start wine brands and help create Sombra Mezcal before founding Casa Komos Brands Group.
Komos brings that wine background to tequila, with an eye toward Mediterranean-style good living. In 2022 the brand entered a partnership with Spirit of Gallo, the spirits arm of E. & J. Gallo.
How it's made
Komos uses ripe 100 percent blue Weber agave hand-harvested in the Tequila Valley. Aged expressions rest in barrels that once held French oak wine, bourbon or sherry, and the tequila is aerated before bottling to soften its texture. Several expressions come in white ceramic bottles designed to be reused.
We make things that we love and that we think have a chance of being loved by others.
Why we carry them
We like Komos as a special-occasion tequila, and its wine-cask aging makes it a natural gift for the wine lover who is curious about agave.
