Their story
La Grange Tiphaine is the Delecheneau family estate in Amboise, in the Loire Valley's Touraine. The family farmed here in the late 1800s and was already bottling its own wine by 1941.
In the late 1970s Jackie Delecheneau gave up mixed farming to focus on vines and replanted with better material. His son Damien took over in the late 2000s with his partner Coralie, whom he met while studying winemaking in Bordeaux. Damien runs the vineyard and cellar, while Coralie handles the business side.
Today they farm about 15 hectares across Montlouis-sur-Loire, Touraine and Touraine-Amboise, including some vines more than a century old.
How it's made
The estate has been certified organic since 2007 and biodynamic since 2014, with grass between the rows and plant-based preparations in the vineyard. Each parcel is fermented separately with native yeasts in concrete tanks and old barrels, moving wine by gravity and using very little sulfur. Grapes include chenin, sauvignon, cot, gamay, grolleau and cabernet franc.
Why we carry them
We love La Grange Tiphaine for Loire wines that feel bright and alive, from mineral chenin to juicy, easy reds.
