LALO
Additive-free blanco tequila from Don Julio's grandson.
- Founded by
- Eduardo "Lalo" González, David R. Carballido
- Based in
- Jalisco
Their story
LALO is made by Eduardo "Lalo" Gonzalez, grandson of Don Julio Gonzalez, the tequila maker behind the Don Julio brand, together with his childhood friend David R. Carballido.
The two spent several years perfecting a single blanco before launching it in the U.S. in 2021, starting in Austin, Texas. Their goal was a tequila that is simple, clean and honest about what goes into it.
How it's made
LALO uses just three ingredients: mature agave from the Jalisco Highlands, deep well water and a Champagne yeast strain. The agave is cooked in stone ovens and distilled twice in Arandas, then bottled without barrel aging or additives.
We want everything about this tequila to be honest
Why we carry them
We like LALO as a clean, bright blanco that tastes of agave, great neat and even better in a margarita.
