Their story

Legent brings together two whiskey traditions. Fred Noe, the seventh-generation Master Distiller of Jim Beam in Kentucky, distilled the bourbon, and Shinji Fukuyo, Chief Blender for Suntory in Japan, shaped the final blend.

The brand was introduced in New York in March 2019 by Beam Suntory, the company formed when Suntory bought Beam. It is produced under the Legent Distilling Co. name in Clermont, Kentucky.

How it's made

Legent starts as Kentucky Straight Bourbon made from the Beam family recipe. Portions are aged further in wine casks and sherry casks, then blended back with more straight bourbon and bottled at 94 proof.

Legent is really something special. As a bourbon distiller, I enjoy breaking rules and creating new traditions

Why we carry them

We like Legent for bourbon drinkers who want something a little different. The cask finishes add a soft fruit note that also makes it a good bridge for Japanese whisky fans.
