Their story
Limestone Farms Heritage Distilling is a newer Kentucky whiskey company based in Georgetown, just outside Lexington. Former University of Kentucky and Cleveland Browns quarterback Tim Couch is among its backers, though the brand does not lean on that connection.
The company has plans to build one of the largest pot still distilleries in the country in Georgetown. While that comes together, it releases blended straight bourbons, with Bloodlines as its entry point.
How it's made
Bloodlines is a blend of 6 and 9 year old Kentucky straight bourbons from an undisclosed Kentucky distillery. The mash bill is 78 percent corn, 13 percent rye and 9 percent malted barley. Higher-proof Select Batch and Small Batch bottlings use the same recipe.
Why we carry them
We like Bloodlines as a well-aged bourbon at a fair price, good neat or in an Old Fashioned. Worth a look if you enjoy classic high-corn Kentucky profiles.
