Their story

Little Apple Treats is a small farm business run by Joanne, a candy maker, granola baker and apple grower, and her husband Dan in Sebastopol, in western Sonoma County. Before farming apples, the couple grew flowers in several backyards in Berkeley.

In 1999 they moved to a house in an apple orchard in Sebastopol, and Joanne began turning the fruit into treats. About ten years later they made their first apple cider vinegar, which became the heart of the business.

How it's made

Apples from the orchard are juiced in an old wooden press and the juice is aged in barrels, where it slowly ferments into vinegar over about a year. Shrubs, caramels and granolas are made by hand in small batches in their kitchen.

Why we carry them

We love having a farm-direct Sonoma vinegar on our shelves. Try it in a salad dressing, or mix a shrub with sparkling water.
