Their story
Local Brewing Co. began with Regan Long and Sarah Fenson homebrewing in San Francisco's Glen Park. They made it official in 2010, built a following with free tastings in Dolores Park, and in 2015 opened a brewery and beer bar at Fourth and Bluxome in SoMa. It is one of the few women- and LGBTQ-owned breweries in the area.
In December 2022 a fire in the building destroyed the SoMa taproom. Local closed that space but kept brewing, and by late 2023 its beers were back in Bay Area bars and restaurants, with Long, the co-founder and brewmaster, open to a new taproom down the road.
How it's made
Long has brewed more than 90 different beers over the years, many named for San Francisco places, like Bluxome Black Lager, Duboce Park IPA and Sutro Tower Stout. Since the fire, Local has brewed in partnership with other breweries, including East Brother Beer Company in Richmond.
Every couple months, we'll bring back some oldies but goodies.
Why we carry them
We are always glad to support a homegrown San Francisco brewery. Look for the IPAs and the pilsner.
