Their story
Lock Stock & Barrel comes from the Cooper Spirits Company, founded by Robert J. Cooper, who also created St-Germain elderflower liqueur. Cooper launched the rye in 2013 as a limited release, after tasting the whiskey at nine years old and deciding it needed more time in the barrel.
The first bottling was a 13 year old rye, followed by older releases, including a 20 year old introduced in 2021.
How it's made
The original release was distilled by Alberta Distillers in Canada, a producer known for rye. It was aged 13 years in barrel, much longer than most ryes, and bottled at 101.3 proof.
When I first tasted the rye we used in Lock Stock and Barrel, it was nine years old
Why we carry them
We think Lock Stock & Barrel is a special-occasion rye for anyone who likes bold, spicy whiskey. Sip it neat to get the full picture.
