Los Perdidos
Old-vine Galician wine from Nacho González's LaPerdida project in Larouco.

Their story
This wine comes from LaPerdida, the small winery of grower Nacho González in the Valdeorras area of Ourense, in inland Galicia. His focus is the steep, old vineyards around the village of Larouco, many of them at risk of being abandoned.
In 2017 Nacho ran a crowdfunding campaign called "Back to the roots" to buy three old vineyard plots in Larouco and replant two more with traditional varieties that have little commercial value. Supporters fully funded it, and the bottles from that era carry playful names built on the winery's name.
The project is as much about keeping a local farming culture alive as it is about making wine.
How it's made
Nacho farms small plots of old vines in Larouco himself and works to recover abandoned parcels. He replants with traditional Galician varieties rather than commercial clones. Production is small and hands-on.
Why we carry them
We carry this because it is a tiny grower saving old Galician vineyards one plot at a time. It is a wine with a real sense of place.
