Their story

M. Haslinger & Fils is a Champagne label made at G.H. Martel in Avenay, a small village a few kilometers outside Épernay. The name is a family tribute: Haslinger was the maiden name of Jean-Remy Rapeneau's mother.

G.H. Martel itself goes back to 1869, when it was founded by Henry Leopold Tabourin, and the Haslinger bottling draws on that long history in the region.

Rather than a grower Champagne, this is a house wine with a personal name on the label, made for easy, everyday celebrating.

How it's made

The blend leans on Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with a smaller share of Chardonnay. The first fermentation takes place in small oak casks instead of stainless steel, and malolactic fermentation is avoided to keep the wine fresh and lively.

Why we carry them

We like Haslinger as a real Champagne that does not break the bank. The Pinot-heavy blend gives it enough body for food.
