Their story
Magic Mind began with a scare. Tech founder James Beshara was drinking seven or more coffees a day to keep up with startup life and ended up in the ER with heart palpitations. He went looking for a gentler way to stay sharp, and with co-founder William Hicks launched Magic Mind in 2020.
The first batches were made in a commercial kitchen in San Jose, and the two founders built the business through online subscriptions before moving into stores nationwide. The company is now based in Los Angeles.
How it's made
Each two-ounce shot blends ceremonial-grade matcha with lion's mane mushroom, ashwagandha, L-theanine and a handful of vitamins and other botanicals. It is lightly sweetened with honey and monk fruit, and its caffeine comes from the matcha, well below a typical cup of coffee.
