Their story

The company began in 1863 in Pessione, just outside Turin, as Martini, Sola & Cia. Three partners each brought something: Alessandro Martini the salesmanship, Luigi Rossi a deep knowledge of herbs, and Teofilo Sola the bookkeeping. By 1879 the name had become Martini & Rossi.

Their vermouth spread across the world and became a fixture of the aperitivo hour and the cocktail bar. Bacardi bought the company in 1993, and today most production has returned to Pessione, where the factory gates still carry the motto "volere è potere," where there's a will there's a way.

How it's made

Martini vermouths are made by aromatizing Italian wine with a blend of herbs, roots, barks and spices, then sweetening and fortifying it. The botanical recipes for Rosso, Bianco and Extra Dry are kept secret, and the work is centered at the Pessione plant.

We need to keep our soul, but the wrapping needs to adjust with time.

Why we carry them

We think every home bar needs a good bottle of vermouth, and Martini is the benchmark for a Negroni or a simple spritz with soda and an orange slice.
