Their story

Mas de Janiny is a family estate in Saint-Bauzille-de-la-Sylve, in the Hérault valley west of Montpellier. In the late 1980s Thierry took over the family farm with help from his father, and his brother Pascal, who had been teaching at a business school, soon joined him. Together they founded Mas de Janiny.

The brothers converted the vineyards to organic farming from the start, and protecting the land and the people who work it has stayed at the center of the estate.

How it's made

The vineyards are certified organic, and vines are managed for balanced, moderate yields. Wines are made with long macerations and very low sulfur, with some aged in barrel, across red, white and rose under the Pays d'Oc, Hérault and Languedoc appellations.

Why we carry them

We like Mas de Janiny for easygoing organic wines that don't cost much and taste like the south of France.
