Their story
Matiz España is the Spanish food line of Culinary Collective, an importer based in Lynnwood, Washington, that has been bringing in foods from small regional producers in Spain and Peru since 1998.
Under the Matiz name the company gathers traditional Spanish staples: tinned sardines, cockles, octopus and Bonito del Norte tuna, along with olive oil, vinegar, vegetables, grains and Marcona almonds. The aim is to work with producers who care about their communities and the environment as much as the food.
How it's made
Culinary Collective sources from small, regional Spanish producers rather than large factories. The seafood is wild-caught or, for mussels, organic, and is packed in Spain in olive oil or simple sauces.
