Their story
Garrett Marrero fell for Maui on a visit, drawn by the warm water and the island's culture, and decided to build a life there. In 2005 he co-founded Maui Brewing Co. as a small microbrewery and restaurant in Kahana on the island's west side.
Twenty years later the company runs Hawaii's largest brewery in Kihei, with a restaurant and beer garden next door. After the 2023 Maui wildfires, its Kokua Beer fundraiser helped raise $1.5 million for people affected by the fires.
How it's made
Beer is brewed at the company's production brewery in Kihei, with a lineup ranging from easygoing island lagers and ales to tropical fruit-forward styles. The company also makes its own sodas, including island cola and ginger beer.
Something grabbed my soul saying, 'This is where you need to be.'
Why we carry them
We like Maui Brewing for an easy, sunny six-pack that comes from a real place and a company that shows up for its island.
